Spark New Talent Watch the Blaze - Career Expo and House Fire
https://kdvr.com/news/local/firefighters-burned-a-home-built-by-students-in-adams-county-heres-why/
This year, students from three different high schools have successfully completed their second house, applying their skills in carpentry, electrical work, masonry, plumbing, and other trades. The students not only gain valuable hands-on experience but also help build critical firefighter training structures that enhance community safety.
Live Fire Demonstration: Burning the First Training House
As part of this event, we will be conducting a controlled burn of the first student-built training house, which has been extensively used by firefighters for life-saving training scenarios over the past year. This burn will clear space for next year’s house, ensuring that future students continue this unique, real-world learning experience.
What You’ll Experience at This Event:
* Career Expo: Meet students, industry professionals, and workforce leaders to explore career pathways in skilled trades and emergency services.
* Live Fire Demonstration: See firsthand how building materials perform in an actual fire scenario.
* Industry & Education Collaboration: Learn how our students gain technical skills, certifications, and industry connections before they graduate.
* Community & Public Safety Impact: See how these student-built homes directly benefit firefighter training and enhance public safety.
